I installed a set of 5,000lb Air Lift bags on my 95 Dodge Ram. Not noticeable when unloaded but really stiffened it up with 25-30lb air. Do not T the air line. Keep em separate so get more roll stiffness. You may not need a sway bar.
Also consider a set of Rancho 9000 shocks. They are adjustable for when you carry the camper.

They should have only minimal stiffening effect when the truck is unloaded.
These claim to be adjustable but I do not see where. Possibly some other brand may be better.
A set of these (or similar) and a rear anti-sway bar, you should be set to cruise.
I have these on my truck and they work great. There is no adjustment that I can find, I think its creative advertisement meaning the more weight you put on them they adjust to it.

You may want to look into one of these along with whatever you install to lit the rear end:

This anti-roll bar makes a HUGE difference. That being said, the load that the OP is considering for his truck is WAY too much.

Ditto on the WAY TOO MUCH. 1,6xx payload minus 1,500 camper minus everything you've modified on the truck minus the weight of you and your passengers and your luggage. I'll bet you are 300 - 500 pounds OVER payload capacity. Very dangerous.

Legally you may be right on the line but a lot of people cheat just a little by using air bags or the like. To me air bags are a great idea because they allow you to 'cheat' and level the truck but can be aired down for good every day driving. Personally I would never install air bags without ladder bars. Ladder bars will stop the axle from rotating on acceleration and will stop the drive line from destroying U-joints. They will also reduce power loses due to the drive line being out of alignment due to the rotating differential.

The only negative that I have experienced due to air bags is that they limited my downward travel. The axle is stopped traveling downward by the airbags. To test yours, jack up the truck by the frame then unbolt your air bags and see if the axle falls.

There are ways around that now. I think it's Daystar that makes a cradle for air bags for some models.

i had airbags on my 250 for hauling a massive toy hauler. found them to be incredible and would def do it again if I felt the need. It was nice having the extra support but being able to take it out when not needed.

Research "timbrens". Made the truck much more stable, especially when i was offroad with the camper. Dont even know they are there when unloaded.
