You didn't do a good job of reading the fine print. Look again, and this time expand the notes. Down in the middle of those notes you will see:
"...TRAILER TOW PACKAGE Towing capability up to 11,100 lbs, ..., HEAVY-DUTY PAYLOAD PACKAGE 9.75 gearset and upgraded springs, ..."

Unfortunately, the description on cars.com is worthless...
<disclaimer> I work for a branch of *** Auto (who owns autotrader.com) Not that auto trader is necessarily better</disclaimer>

Here's the dealer's page
http://www.princeforddouglas.com/new...92313125f4.htm

According to the window sticker, it's a 5.0 with 7000# GVWR

You didn't go to the dealers website and look at the actual trucks window sticker.

Yeah, whoever is maintaining the dealer's website screwed up. The "dealer notes" describes an F-150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine and HDPP. They may have one like that in stock, but the one shown for $49,625 is not it. That's probably false advertising.

Thats what I don't like about cars.com and the other listing sites, very few listings are true to the vehicle and finding what you are looking for is a PITA. There are many times I come across a Lariat list, or some other high trim with a low price, only to go to the dealers site and find an XLT.

One of web site tricks to get hits in search engines is to load up the headers with a bunch of key words, many which have nothing to do with the actual site. Savvy dealers do the same thing.

And this children is why SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is broke.

That being said a dealership might be able to find what you are looking for but the HDPP trucks are rare.

My qualifications for a truck were 6.5 foot bed, crew cab, four wheel drive. Preferred a 17 or older for advantageous rebates and pricing.

My local for dealer had what I wanted in a XL model. None of the local XLt’s had the 6.5 foot bed.

Unfortunately F150’s are now encroaching in heavy duty truck price ranges. I was able to find exactly what I wanted in a Ram 2500 with a Cummins diesel within $1500.00 of the XL’s price.

Tried my best to buy another Ford. But for me, the Ram met my needs better and seemed like a better value.

I’ll still enjoy the towing section of this forum, as there is plenty of pertinent non brand specific information. However, I won’t miss all the belly aching on the other side of the forum every time someone experienced a minor hickup.
