New member and first post. Looking for a 2018 or 19 150 Lariat crew cab with sufficient payload to pull a large-ish travel trailer. I’ve found several with the 7000lb GVRW package thinking that would get me there. But the one I looked at today had a payload capacity of 1665 according to the door sticker. I was thinking the 7000 package would get me to 2k payload.
I want a Screw with leather and 20 inch wheels if possible. Is the 7k GVRW package not enough? I’ve not found any with the heavy duty payload package. Also, when I build one on the Ford website, that option doesn’t even come up. What am I missing?

Custom order one with as little options (weight) that you can and include the heavy duty payload package. That's about the only way you're going to get near the 2000 pound mark.
Don't get hug up so much on the GVWR of the truck but what the actual payload is. Also, consider how you can transfer some of that gear in the bed to the trailer. Lightening the truck will help as it still can pull the trailer just fine.
What's the GVWR of the trailer and the tongue weight?
I was in your shoes last year and finally admitted to needing a F250. It was a wise choice.

Nope. To get over around 1,800 payload capacity, The new F-150 needs to have the heavy duty payload package (HDPP), which results in around 7,850 GVWR.

Nope. You need GVWR of 7,850.

You're trying to build one that Ford doesn't allow. The fanciest trim level available with HDPP is XLT mid (301A). No Lariat or above trim. No short bed; for a SuperCrew it must have the 6.5' bed. No 20" wheels. Depending on trim, it will have either 17" or 18" HDPP wheels. If you choose a trim that has steel wheels, then you can upgrade to HDPP alloy wheels.
On Ford.com build&price, begin with F-150 XLT SuperCrew with 3.5L EooBoost engine, 3.73 e-locker axle, 6.5' bed, and your choice of 4x2 or 4x4. Then save and go to packages Now you will see both HDPP and max tow packages. Choose both. Then go back to the top and complete your configuration. Then add other packages and options, including trailer tow mirrors. But be certain that when you add a package or option the system will allow it without deleting HDPP.

Resign yourself to the fact that you cannot have fancier trim than XLT 301A. Then order the truck with HDPP. Yes, order, and plan on at least two months for your dealer to receive it. With a TT that grosses a max of 7,500 pounds, you could even choose the antiquated 5.0L V8 engine instead of the wonderful 3.5L twin-turbo motivator. But you cannot order the 5.0L with max tow, so if you insist on the 5.0L then note that the integrated trailer bake controller is not included with HDPP or the regular tow pkg
If you don't like the restrictions required go get an F-150 with HDPP, then look again at the SuperDuty with the gas engine. Comparable performance, very little higher price, and a crewcab with 6.5' bed is very close to the same overall length as the F-150 SuperCrew with 6.5' bed.

Looks like supercrew with 6.5' will get you there payload wise, but the lowest rated 3.5 I see is 10,600 with 3.15 gears, and 5.0 is 8400 with the same. 5.0 with 3.73 bumps between 9700-11,500

none of those take into account vehicle options which is what OP wants, a Lariat.
The more bells and whistles, the lower your payload.

As stated above, the higher the trim level you're seeking, the lower the payload rating. You can get to 2000# in an XL/XLT with minimal options, however. I have an XL SCab 4x4 with the 101A pkg, 3.5EB, 3.55 e-locker, Max Tow and the payload is 1960# without the HDPP frame. If you want to surround yourself with butter-soft leather and have your butt warmed and massaged while towing large, get an F250!

true, but the op can look at the chart, see the crew cab longbed without hdpp comes in at 2260 or so, then can determine if he can be a few hundred pounds shy if his mythical 2k payload. He is just looking at pulling a 7k trailer. Something I do with my 14' which had 18xx payload. this suff isn't rocket science, if your going to routinely pull or haul near max and a few hundred pounds i's a deal breaker, get a more capable truck
