they're are only 2 prongs connected to a red wire and a black one. The wires run to the black cube which is sealed.
Crazy it has no part or nothing. It's potted whatever it is. Curiosity would have me tearing that thing apart to find out what's in the middle of it.

For all we know, it could be for the HVAC.
I was not referring to OP's mystery part. I was referring to the old "kit" that used to come with trucks with the relay and brake controller harness.

Hummm, there is an aftermarket alarm the dealer had. Wanted me to pay for it, I refused so it's disabled. Wonder if it's for that????

Could be. If you shake it, do you feel any movement? It could be a shaker sensor for the alarm.

It's probably a passive device as it only has 2 leads, guessing it's a tilt switch. Try putting an ohmmeter across the leads and observe the resistance as you move it through various angles (I would expect the mounting tab to be "up")....

I'll second that. Probably a motion switch.

Next time, ask them to comp the alarm and include a warranty. There is no reason they should not be able to eat the cost on a $40,000 truck. I despise dealerships that do this as it's one of the worst value adder scams. They pay less than $100 per vehicle, then upcharge us $500-800.

The installers are under pressure to install the units fast. Two guys at work have had aftermarket dealership alarms fail. One went off and wouldn't stop until battery power was cut. Neither vehicle would start.

I've got a DEI (Viper, Python brands) I purchased in 1994 that has been installed into three different vehicles. Window control, motion detection, extended antenna, and glass break modules. Nothing has failed, including the wiring. Took my time, used proper connectors and proper tools.
