My towing capacity

Thanks for all the responses. It doesn't say anything on the window sticker about tow package, just the hitch and hookups. Though the service advisor at the dealership told me that it has the cooler since it is a Sport model and that it is not the radiator looking type anymore. I am skeptical of that for sure.
I figured I should be able to pull 5000# or more, my god it is a V8 and a truck.

Your 1/2 ton truck has a one ton payload limit. Pretty sweet really! Mine is lower, and I complain that my 1/2 ton truck has a 3/4 ton payload limit.
What I used to not understand (but I do now), getting a fully loaded truck can really cut your payload. All those nice to have options penalize you in lower payload. It makes sense once I think about it, but I never gave it any consideration. I will on my next truck. Meanwhile, I tow a light enough trailer where it doesn't matter anyway.

That pesky grey door sticker is king in this case. It will be the one the department of highway/police look at when or if you have an issue.

You will be fine. But put this statement in other terms, I have a 1/2 ton truck, surely it should be able to pull 2 1/2 tons.

payload ratings: 2282# & 2286#
My F150: 2112#
that's pretty sad.

Or the 3.5 that is in the Raptor but with more substantial cooling. It's the closest you can get to a diesel that already has a track record. A 5.0 EB though would be sweet.
From what I read when the 15's first came out that you could not get a tow package with the Sport package, don't know if still the case, but most of the 15 Sports were not rated for towing.

For 2018 F-150, the XLT Sport pkg is not available with HDPP, but it is available with either the regular or max tow pkg. Requires 301A or 302A trim pkg, SuperCrew with either bed, or SuperCab with the 6.5" bed. Not available with regular cab or SuperCab with 8' bed.
