Default MPG 2010 4X2 5.4l

This is what I towed from Florida to Michigan and back. I also put maybe 300 miles on it without the trailer. A total of 2631 miles with a 12.03 mpg average. I turned over 30,000 while on the trip. I was actually surprised, thinking it was 10+ mpg.

Low? What mpg do you get towing approx. 5,000 - 5,500 lbs. thru some pretty steep hills like in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Gotta remember my bigger engine than yours gets 15ish mpg daily driving empty.

I pulled a 71 LTD with my 2010 5.4 from Vegas to san Francisco on a 1500 pound car carrier so I bet I was pulling more than you, and it was full of chit. I got a AVG of 13.5 MPG pulling it over the hills and all. I pulled a 2011 jay feather DBH127 over the same rout and my 5.4 got 10.4 average and that had a huge front wind sail to eat the mileage. I was not trying to say you didn't get good mileage maybe you where in a hell of a head wind or you never kept it at 55 mph and ran the **** out of her.

now my 2012 5.0 don't get that good at all so hay thumbs up! it would seem to eat the gas going through the hills! the 5.0 revs way higher!

I was running 75 as much as I could. Just slower in construction zones and in the hills with lower speed limits. It's a 20+ hour straight thru drive for me. Leave at 1am and get up there between 9-10pm.

I still drive a semi occasionally (I guess I am semi-retired), so that little trailer is no big deal to drag.
