Another idea for you is to use a telescoping support that drops vertically out of the hitch shank. This would give you more weight capacity and not leverage the trucks suspension so much.

Nighthawk87 ->I did have telescopic stabilizer legs, they worked well on heavier cargo but found I didn't use them much as my stuff is usually under 300 lbs so took them off. Considered redesigning them or using the type found on travel trailer that swing out of the way as they rode a little low. Here is a pic of the legs on.

You bring up a good point. Use the scissor type jacks that travel trailers use. I used my cordless drill with a 3/4" socket to operate. In fact, I wonder if you could use a 3/4" bolt to operate both the winch and the stabilizer? Then one could use their cordless drill to operate or hand-crank if they choose.

Just a suggestion, if you add vertical stabilizers, make sure they are crank down. If they're only a hard pinned connection, and someone loads up the truck so the point those are loaded, you'll never get the pins out to raise them.

Good point. I've never had an issue when using these stabilizers, once the weight is in the bed I've never got hung up lifting the legs, but I could see it happening if there was enough weight in the bed. Thanks for the input!
