Default M5R2 trans, who has actually broken one?

So I have an 01 F150 with the 4.2 and M5R2 trans. I've never felt comfortable towing with an automatic trans, and I found out after I bought the truck about the drastically lower towing rating. That being said, after getting back last night from towing a GMC Jimmy on a flat-bed trailer for a buddy (total of about 6200# between the Jimmy and the trailer), and the fact that the truck did just fine and was able to hold 75mph on the highway, I have to say I can't really understand why the 5-speed equipped trucks were rated so low. After some research on here, I found a lot of speculation about it, but no definitive answers, and very little in the way of personal accounts of the trans failing, so to all the people out there towing with an M5R2, what has yours held up to, and what does it really take to break one of these things?
