It's just an assumption on my part, but in aviation the FAA "Standard Passenger" is at the average human weight (men, women and children together) of 150 lbs when figuring computations of weight and balance. The US DOT may (probably) uses this same guideline.

I have looked over this thread and read that the yellow sticker on the inside driver side door jam for the weight ratings particularly the max payload capacity already takes into account a 150lb passenger. Can anyone please confirm this for me? And how was this info obtained? And also by any chance do you know if this also includes a full tank of gas?

The only true way to figure this out is to take your truck with a full tank of gas to the scales. If your truck weighs in at 5800, then you subtract from your GVWR which if I'm not mistaken is 7700? Which would leave you with a payload of 1900lbs.

Very good point, and probably the most accurate way to do it.....will be hitting the weigh scale to figure this out. My truck title says 5586lbs but that has to be a dry figure, so will get it weighed with full tank of gas, family, and belongings and then subtract that number from the 7700lbs gvwr for my truck to see exactly how much payload I have left over

Personally I couldn't put 1000lbs hitch in the bed (which only holds 1690 max) of my truck and have enough left over for my family (I haven't been 150lbs since high school). I think you're wise to get your truck weighed at a scale.

The wife, daughter and I just got back from a 4 day trip to the northern lower peninsula of Michigan and a bit of the UP. 626 miles (400 pulling the camper), 60 gallons of gas and one nearly blown trailer tire later we are finally home. We set up camp in Boyne city Michigan and Saturday we drove to Charlevoix for the morning and then to Central lake in the afternoon for a graduation open house. Sunday we went to Mackinac, crossed the bridge and messed around there for a bit. Had a busy but nice weekend.

I really need to splurge for a set of towing mirrors, the little strap on deal doesnt cut it anymore.

what all have you done to your pop up to get it to set that high. I am looking to get one, and was wanting to make it off road worthy and possibly add a front deck for 4wheeler

Its a 2005 rockwood 2316g popup with a al-ko 3500 lbs axel with electric brakes..the axel was sprung over. It set the trailer tung at 29" off the ground. I am running 33/12.5/15 procomp extream mud tires on 15/10 beadlocks. The old axel was a torsion axel. Leveling jack's are bal's the biggest ones they sell.

The popup has been on Eagle lakes trail in Truckee ca with no problemes even over 2 foot tall Boulders. Still 33" tires are a little tall. Its a lot of drag resistance. Going up to tahoe from sacramento the truck Struggle to keep it at 40 going over some hills.

Very interesting toy hauler. Never seen one where the "toy" is loaded in the front of the trailer. I imagine that increases the hitch weight significantly. However, I just looked up your specs and the dry hitch weight is very low at 560lbs. I'm on the market for a toy hauler and am in the process of researching my options. Your's looks good.
