Lets see your campers being towed
#501
I have been camping with tents, popups, and now a bumper pull, and the quotes about looking at different types and renting one for a long weekend is excellent advise. Small is convenient, especially for just you and your wife, but in bad weather the days become very uncomfortable and your comfortable small trailer becomes tiny... Good luck.

Nice looking trailer, on the market for one myself so have been watching this thread like a hawk.
Outback 250rs specs say 27'6". Does that include the rear slide?
How does it tow? Weight looks good, 5915lbs dry and 640 lbs hitch weight.

(queen in the back with a bunk bed over it, there is a nice couch up front next to the kitchen). Anyways, we bought it when it was just the three of us, now we have another boy and it's getting cramped. If they weren't laying off teachers left and right here in California I'd buy the following linked Jayco JayFeather X213. http://www.jayco.com/products/travel...oorplans-specs
It has bunks up front (with an outside acess door for bikes), in the back it has a hard sided slider master bedroom bed. With the slider in, the length is 24 feet. The gross weight is only 5500lbs.
Jayco makes finely built trailers. They are known for their quality. I've been looking for a new trailer for the past year and half and this is the one that would serve our needs the best. We've been to half a dozen dealers, two RV shows, and this is the one I want.
Hope that helps. Basically look at how many you need to sleep, keep your weight down under 7000lbs, and keep in mind what type of camping you intend to do. The expense of the trailer is only one part of equipment you'll need. For example we do alot of dry camping so we have two EU2000i (silent generators), an extra 60 gal water tank and a transfer pump. Then you'll need a good hitch system. We use a system that eliminates sway (Hensley Hitch) it was costly but worth it IMHO. Then you'll want a nice grill system, you'll never run out of things to buy. Trust me.
Good luck!

Thanks, it's longer with the rear slide extended. It tows great with my truck, an '11 with maxtow and an equalizer hitch.

JPBeck-thanks for the good info. I too, have been reading every post here. I'm hanging up the tent and looking for something in the 18-22 ft size. Thanks again!

I also use the Bull Rings in the back with a thin rope to loop around the rear tires to keep them from moving around.
Check my profile pictures for some more details.
