Lets see your campers being towed
#4981
Just got done with a ~950 mile trip through the Colorado mountains. Borrowed my neighbor's camper for a week along the Taylor River near Gunnison. Couldn't have been more impressed with the truck. Pulled the camper (~4800lbs loaded) like it was nothing.
Hooked up and ready to go.
Campsite that was home for 5 days/nights.

2018 Ford 150 3.5 3.55 tow package. Just picked up our 2019 Venture Sporttrek 327 VIK. We are seasonal RVers and the truck pulled it flawlessly, our campground was 75 miles away. In 3-5 years when the kids are older and if we decide to start traveling I would probably go with the F250 or F350. I was impressed with the new Ford though.

Nice camper and truck combo. I hope you enjoy it. Not trying at all to be the weight police or tell people what to do but I hope you have a really good wd hitch. With the length of it, with your truck being a short wheelbase, it can shake you around a bit with heavy cross winds. There are people that will say you have too much trailer or it's too long. Im in the same boat as you and I dont have any room to talk. My truck has the 157" wheelbase and a 34ft long 8900lb loaded camper and I had the equalizer hitch and it did sway but not to the point that it went out of control. I got nervous about it and sold it, and installed a Propride P3 1400lb hitch and wow what a hell of a difference it made. No more sway at all. Since you're most likely over the trucks capacities like I am, if it were me I'd upgrade to it. Its pricey but it money very well spent and having piece of mind that you and your family will be safer. For short trips it's not a big deal. Just trying to give you a heads up. If fulltiming then a bigger truck would be ideal. Again enjoy your truck and camper .

Thanks I understand the comments I will get about the setup not too worried about it. I picked up the e2 1200/12000 and was pretty impressed with how the truck handled it, I didnt have much sway at all. Im actually still within the Trucks capacity numbers but we towed this empty with a hitch weight of 850. We wont be hauling this around we do full time seasonal (75 miles from the dealer). I told the wife if we plan to do more traveling when the kid gets a little a older a bigger truck will be needed. Right now the new F150 is a beast and towed it just fine. Thanks again!

First tow with the new 2018 HDPP, compared to my 16 XLT.
The HDPP really makes a difference towing. 6000lb camper and the rear squatted 1.5in after WDH dialed in. The handling is much, much better... in fact i might actually reduce some WD.
I must say... I really enjoyed the 2016 3.5 and 6sp towing experience more than the new 3.5 and 10sp. Not to knock the new combo in anyway, but the “old” motor made its peak power much power (2500rpm vs 3500) so the 10sp is consistently at higher rpm than the older setup. This is great for power but makes the experience feel “busier.” One is the reasons i went 3.5 over the 5.0 was the towing experience and lower revs but it seems the 10sp is now a bit closer to the 5.0.
Just my observations!
