That rest area is just south of Grayling on I-75...

The dry weight on the trailer is 5250 lbs and probably just over 6k loaded. I'm happy with the way the truck pulls her. My last truck had the 3.5 Ecoboost and the eco seemed to pull better as it doesn't downshift as often. But the 5.0 does seem to get a little better gas mileage while towing. Just have to use some RPMs to make power on the 5.0 instead of boost when needed.

Yup. We've been there a few times.

Picking up our new Vibe tomorrow. Already have a couple trips planned.

Top of the post is 13' above grade, which is a little overkill but if I decide to get a 5th wheel one day it should still fit. All the lumber, metal, hardware, and 5.5tons of limestone cost me just under $2,000. By the way, the limestone was transported to the site on a 4k pound dump trailer using the F150. Yes your math is correct that's 15,000 lbs. She was squatting but honestly pulled fine.

Thanks, I'm wanting to get something very similar to help keep the weather off all year since I have no inside storage. I just moved and it hurt to watch it set out all winter.

I also tried to rent a dump trailer to haul some limestone recently, but the rental shop would not let the dump trailer go unless you have a 3/4 or larger truck.

Here she is all loaded up ready to leave for the Memorial Day long weekend. This is also the first time loading it all up running the WDH AND Firestone Ride Rite bags (heated topic, lol)...

My impressions are that the bags are great. I ran 30 PSI in them and it did raise the rear slightly, but I did not notice any additional sway or anything negative at all. The ride was much improved actually. I do have a slow leak somewhere on the left side bag, so I'll have to find that.

I always ran bags and WDH on my 09. worked great. I found the slow leaks at the push fittings on the bags. Took quite a while but stopped leaking on its own over time. I have set in transit for the 2016. hope to install before our first trip.

Wish I had one of those shelters. No room in my postage stamp size yard.

I used some
Nu-Calgon Nu-Calgon
that I had for checking for propane leaks and found it was leaking at the threaded fitting into the bag. Pulled it out, put some thread sealant on it, put it back in (a bit tighter this time), and it held 60 PSI all night.

First trip (long drive for a short overnighter)
It was my first time really towing something significant. I will say she towed beautifully. Kept it 55-60mph on the freeway and just took my time and cruised. Really had zero issues. Now if only I can get my pro backup to find the sticker I'll be set!
