However, if your truck drops more than an inch with a proper setup, then you are overloaded, and airbags just mask the problem. Eventually you will cause damage to the rear axle by being over its GAWR.
But only if he is over weight on the rear axle. Just because the trailer is slightly nose down does not mean it's over weight. I prefer mine to be slightly nose down to start a trip. As water is transferred from the water tank under the bed to the black and gray tanks weight transfers to the rear.

It's all about keeping the scales happy.

I was curious why dropping more than an inch would be a problem so I got my hitch manual out and what it said was the ideal setup is when the front and back drop equally but the rear should never drop over an an inch more than the front. This is from the Eaz-Y-Lift manual.

More room that I really need but love it! If you have kids to bring than its really nice having the bunks otherwise plenty of storage space.

We really like them and they're built by solid parent company (Forest River). If we didn't have two kids and need the additional space, we'd probably have one.

...and I just bought a leveling kit (1.5" AS), so now I have to re-setup everything and I have a feeling I'm going to be looking at airbags. My SuperSprings have been great, but SS+stock rear block lifts the rear TOO much even with a level. I'm HOPING that the 1.5" AS level will only give me 1.5" and I can keep my rear setup the way it is, but I'm afraid that will put me dead level which means with my trailer I'll be nose high no matter what I do with the WDH and such. So, I'll probably pull the SS's, put the stock block back, and install bags. I really didn't want to get bags though, but I just don't see any other way of level towing.

I have a 2.5" level on mine and with the camper on and the weight distribution hitch set I'm just barely nose high. So I put about 15-20 psi in my air bags to bring the back just ever so slightly higher than the front. I actually think im going to keep the bags at 15-20 psi even with no trailer on.
