The sway control built into the truck engaged brakes on the rear and also reduces throttle.

The poster above is driving too fast, IMO. Enough sway to engage the system is too much.

I think that the continued brake pulsing to keep the truck from swaying actually made the truck run hot going up a long 6-7% grade. I then shut it off and didn't run into that issue. I remember watching Fast Lane Truck on YouTube and the Fords brakes really heated up when they were testing the Eisenhower Dam run.

And yeah,....check your gain setting to make sure it's not set too high!

This thing would be of little to no benefit that I can see unless you can't tell visually when a tire is low or you're simply to lazy to check your pressure manually before long trips, lol!
The problem is often a tire start unraveling while you are going down the road and you have no idea. Folks have reported never feeling or hearing anything until someone waved them over. With TPMS, you may have enough warning of pressure loss to prevent the blowout and trailer damage, AND to prevent loosing the second tire on that side as well because it is carrying almost twice what it was designed for.
I cut a rear tire on my truck last year while towing and though I heard a noise I didn't like, it was the TPMS flashing a couple of seconds later that got me to the side of the road before I ruined a rim.

Well.....we started with a slight vibration coming from the trailer?...we're about hundy into the camping trip....I stop for a splash of fuel...checked all the tires (although I did before I left)...everything was "looooking good". Off we go...another 20 k into it , we get some serious vibrations (not the good ones either)...all of sudden I see this chic hanging out her passenger window waving?....then I see it....the spare tire, cover, and bumper mount flying across the freeway?!> sh**?!
I know I've told this story already....still pissed at the frickin cheap a** Carlisle 6 ply's.
So....although an "air pressure regulator gadget do majigger", wouldn't have helped .....that's on Santa's List....but wait....theirs more (gifts daddy wants!)

I've had the system on my vehicle for years and it's never once been useful. Every flat I've ever got has been pretty well instant, lol! But its your money, I don't care. Its definitely pretty cool, I was just stating my thoughts on its actual practical usefulness.

Soooo, ....what your saying issss, invest in a tire gauge, ...then use the funds for something useful, like?....we'll anything but the air monitoring system! I'm with ya!
I know the performance "stuff" will come after the warranty runs out...."Can't leave anything stock?!!-Christ"!......Hey?!...don't they have those groups that meet.......Performance-a-holics or something?
Nooo.....I'm in the right club....good ole F150 Forum!!!

You just made the case for a tpms. Every flat you've ever had was instant? Sounds to me like that's an even better reason to have a tpms. An instant flat while pulling a camper (a blowout) is a catastrophic event with a camper, as the tire carcass will take half the side of the camper with it as it disintegrates. Without a tpms, you will likely not even know it has happened till someone lets you know, or the other tire on that side lets go.

Or at least he thought it was "instant" and without any potential warning sign (seems kind of similar to eating poorly, drinking, smoking for years, then "instantly" had a heart attack!)

I also think it is cool gadget and good use of that space but not sure I'll buy one. Having had bearings go out on my trailer, I always check how hot the bearing/spindle cap is on mine in addition to the tire check so i like the temperature feature.
