For a good trucker/RV gps is the garmin 760 lmt (the one I have ) or the smaller 5 inch 560lmt. I recommend the 760lmt , I love it.

I'd like to get mine out and get it ready for the summer. I want to scrap off the decals that are peeling and replace them, but that takes money and time.

I have a GPS that will give me alternate routes, but we have 2 dogs. We need to stay on roads that are near hotels that accept dogs and the Drury Hotels are excellent. Besides, our trip is 27 hours of driving and we don't want to make it any longer than necessary.

Just wondering if anyone would know...

I haven't towed my trailer with my truck yet. Its a 2012 KZ Spree Escape Hybrid; about 2500 lbs. My concern is if I would need a hitch with a drop to tow it level. I previously towed it with a mini van that, I'm sure, had the tow bar mounted lower than my truck's would sit. I have the sway control and leveling.

I have it parked at a lot right now, which is not very accessible, so that's why I haven't been able to try it out. Knowing the first time I pull it out of there will probably be for a trip, I'd like to know before hand heh.

Was the hitch on your van a straight bar? Was it level when being pulled with your van?

I'll wager your truck receiver is at least 4" higher than your van was.

Yes, it was a straight bar and level with the van. I have leveling arms, though. As well, the hitch "ball" is part of one big unit that included the ball as well as where the leveling arms would attach to. Now that I think of it, I couldn't just put a hitch with a drop because of those arms. I'm really at a loss to figure out whether its going to work.

Not the exact one, but it is very similar to this:

LOL, the van actually held up pretty well with it but I did not feel comfortable at any time using the van to haul it.

Ok, now that I look at that image, I'm pretty sure I just need to lift the one part right behind the hitch ball. Nevermind!!

Correct, your hitch is adjustable. You likely have about 6 to 8 inches that you can raise or lower the ball.
