Before the purchase, I thought the pin weight was 860 lbs, but today the site says 840 lbs. I do not have a measurement.

How do you like the 231RK? Those numbers look fine. Does it tow well?

This is my first trailer, but I think it tows great, easy to control and shorter than the TT equivalent. The couch isn't comfortable, so we're working on fixes for that.

Going from a 2012 Jayco Jay Flight 26BH 29'1" Travel Trailer camper

To a 2019 Rockwood Premier 2716g 19'2" Pop Up camper

Just got sick of the high maintenance, fuel, insurance, costs of the travel trailer when only using 3 or 4 times a year.

New Pop Up takes no time to hitch up and level, where the Jayo was a pain in the butt. Setup time for the Pop Up is more, but it's about a wash with out the hitching/unhitching and leveling time that Jayco took.

Pop Up is one of the bigger ones made with a 14' box and large 84" X 2.5' slide, with king and queen bunkend beds.

Here's a comparison on the length and the width of the Pop Up compared to the Travel Trailer.

Wow, most go from a pop up to a camper but you went the other way!

When we were shopping for our first Rv, we looked at pop up but the lack of a real bathroom was a deal killer. Does yours function as a real bath or is it the collapsible shower / cassette toilet setup? It’s nice to have a real black and gray tank...

Besides using a weight distributing hitch, which only takes me a couple extra minutes to hook up or unhook, what extra would you need to do with the Jayco that you don't have to with the pop-up? I guess having to level two axles might be a bit harder, but that doesn't really take me any longer than a single axle. Just curious...

My dad and his wife recently "downgraded" from a 5th wheel to a pop-up for most of the same reasons, too (though they also switched tow vehicle to a minivan). They drove over 6000 miles on their big trip this past summer, saving them over $1000 in gas just for that one trip alone. Towing all that extra weight really is a costly hassle -- I wish I could get by with something smaller, but with me, my wife, 6-month old twins, a big dog, and toys (mountain bike, dirt bike, etc), I can't find anything smaller than my 27' Outback to fit my needs.

It has a 5 gallon cassette for the black water which can be dumped in a convenient toilet anywhere. The shower grey water and sink grey water do not have tanks but is very simple to drain into blue tote tanks, buckets, or directly to an on site septic opening.

My travel trailer black water tank always plugged and the sensors always got covered and were inaccurate. No matter how much water I used to flush or filling the tank to the top before draining it, it alway did this. And so did my previous travel trailer. I sure don't miss fighting a black tank anymore. I had a pop up with toilet/shower previously and the cassette is much easier. I rarely go to camp sites with septic so using the blue totes is the same as I did with the travel trailers.
