Thanks. Yeah, going to go to rv show in the spring to see other floor plans. Of couse my 5 year old thinks being up on a bunk is cool now but will he think that in 5 or 6 years. And I don't want the length of the camper to get the nice quad bunks, but those back rooms are neat.

Thanks for the reply. We will be coming from a pop up so all the floor plans get overwhelming lol.
We are using the Blue Ox anti sway system and it works very well. When reviewing the floor plans we noticed the if the bathroom is mid trailer and the kitchen is on the same side, they both are kind of crammed together. With the rear kitchen models it opens that space as well as the bathroom. Or there're options like this where the rear is a sitting are which opens it up a little bit. My advice is check out all the floor plans, then look at the brands and see what fine touches they put on it. I know the Keystone lite series as well as the Jayco's have the 2 axles spread apart for better towing and less "porpoising" which is the feeling you get on a boat in light chop.also some come with electric front jacks and spare wheels and tires, other options to look for when deciding on a specific brand.

Over kill!? Truck can tow 11900 lbs. Trailer loaded is 3500 lbs.

Will probably get a larger trailer soon. Didn't want to go too big starting out and we already had trailer before we got the truck. It's only the wife and I, but a little more room to move around in would be nice. This trip was a couple of weeks ago and only about a 100 miles. Last June we went to Kentucky with it and that was about 750-800 miles. No problems at all. Love the truck and since getting it in May, have put just over 10k on it.

I envy your small setup, I bet you get great MPG while towing that setup? When I retire and the kids leave the nest we plan on a class c while towing a trailer with a Harley.

Mileage to Kentucky through the mountains of West Virginia was only about 11mpg or so. Wish it was better but I think those elephant type tow mirrors are probably holding me back. But I love them mirrors and the truck is great. I'm not getting any worse than my 94 F 250 7.3 turbo diesel. The other weekend I think I was getting about 14mpg. Level roads for the most part.

Thanks for the feedback. That is encouraging. Just finished our first full week (5 days) and loved it.

A little off topic: what kind of bug guard is that on your truck? I like it.

Once you get over a certain speed its the frontal square area of the trailer that affects your mileage, not necessarily the weight.

It's a AVS aeroskin II. I like it. Uses double sided tape to hold it on. Mine is textured black finish. Auto Anything has it for $94.99.
