Had traffic backed up, trucks tail gating them, hoping they would get the hint to move over in the far right lane and one finally did. We had to tag one today. . Tagging is when one of us in big trucks gets by him, then gets in front, all the other trucks get in a right lane, then the guy that finally got around him slows down and lets the other trucks get by. Guys please. If you can't or are not going to run the speed limit its ok, but don't hang in the middle lane cars flying by on both sides and just sit there blocking others. . Get over in the right lane so folks can pass when you see the sign no trucks in left lane. GA adopted a law this past year for just that reason. People not moving over, going slower than traffic around them. We can tell when winter is officially here. Snowbirds and campers headed south. Later......
I take it you're a big rig driver?

NoVa traffic is just crap anyway but if you could tell your buddies to stop whipping out into the left lane at the last second usually cutting off a 4wheeler in the process just to take the next 9 miles riding right beside another big rig because you're going a half mile faster then that would be great!

The middle lane is the proper lane for thru traffic in this area, a truck/trailer combo in the right lane is bad as they will constantly have to get over to let merging traffic on so its safer and more effective to just ride the middle lane. The faster traffic can go left and slower right.

As far as I know there isn't a no trucks in left lane on 495/95.

Also, you could slow down, you don't need to be going ***** out in a big rig.

I don't have a name for it but when I'm on a road trip and a trucker is being an *** driving I'll wait for a nice, steep hill and get in front of him and will let off, they will try to intimidate by riding my *** but I make sure their right arm gets a good work out downshifting. Just about when I think they have the message I speed off as they struggle to get back up to speed for miles.

Stay safe driving, see too many wrecks in Prince William in 95, a lot are from truckers.

Obviously you don't travel our region very often, I-95 and I-81 are death traps with big rigs.

They are driving 80+ miles an hour, ripping in and out of traffic, not moving over to let others merge, I could go on.

I didn't say I do that to everyone, I do it in extreme cases. These trucks literally almost run you off the road to cut in front of you so they can go a touch faster than the other truck.

I've been along side of them several times and have been run on the shoulder, doesn't make a difference if I can't enjoy the goods they haul if I'm run off the road dead.

Also, not sure if you travel with a CB but listen to some of these truckers and you will hear the joking and stuff they do like the other guy mentioned, they do rolling road blocks, block people in etc.

If I'm and ******* for giving a trucker a bit of his own medics then I guess I am. Spent many years traveling all across this country and have had many, many close calls with big rigs!

Oh, and I do drive rigs except it's a ladder truck.

And it's interesting I'm the ******* when the big rig driver basically said he and his buddies do the same thing. Did you not read his post, they get a truck in front of the car then slows them down so the other trucks can get by!

Come spend some time here in the DC/East coast region and I'm sure you'll have a different outlook.

If they drive like that then I guess that's only a little different.... but don't ever get in a battle with a big rig.....when you loose and eventually you will you die......and I live in oil country so I see none stop oil haulers driving like a holes. Either way don't try and adjust the driving habits of a rig. Just let them do there thing and maybe a D.O.T will correct them

Hummm... Thats the point I'm trying to make.

Friend apparently you have never been on those roads. This part you are so wrong. All the way from Richmond to DC, 495 both sides, 95 to Baltimore, there are signs everywhere, NO trucks in the left lane. Please tell me you don't live up there and have never seen them?
Use to run out of Jessup MD delivering Honda so know the area well. Tickets start 350 dollars for us in the left lane, leaving us the center and right. Maybe this will help with the attitude you went off on below.

Also, you could slow down, you don't need to be going ***** out in a big rig.
WOW,, So your the deciding factor causing the traffic jam and deciding what everyone else needs to be driving. Thank you sir.
I figured it would get under someones skin and if It was just me I could agree with you but when the camper drags down to the high 50s on the hills in the center lane it creates a cluster **** behind him and in every state slower traffic is suppose to stay to the right just like YOU mentioned. . Ga adopted this law dew to Motorhomes and campers. Id any of you have been through GA on 95 around the 65 mm there is always a task force out there, getting rich off MH and campers. .

I don't have a name for it but when I'm on a road trip and a trucker is being an *** driving I'll wait for a nice, steep hill and get in front of him and will let off, they will try to intimidate by riding my *** but I make sure their right arm gets a good work out downshifting. Congratulation. You know you just deemed yourself a road rage person and getting on me or US to drive safe? , . Its something i'm sure your not use to after that statement its called courteous driving when you know your causing a traffic jam behind you and cars flying by on both sides. Jeff Foxworthy calls it " Here's your sign" .

Stay safe driving, see too many wrecks in Prince William in 95, a lot are from truckers.
If you could just put a sign on the back of our camper I'm the guy that screws with truckers we'll make sure we leave you alone as much as possible .

We sure don't want to **** you off.
I rest my case.

I hear you. And please dont take it personally but saying they do it so I can do it is kinda a juvenile response....I drive a big truck a few times a month but not a trucker by any means. I hate driving the picker truck because of all the attitudes similar to yours out there.... big trucks shouldn't speed with the odd exception, so if you see one going 80 then give him some room.....he is a rolling hazard.
And your right about the radio chatter....you **** one guy off and 5 miles later one of his buddy's can pay you back..... all the more reason to give them some room.
But there not all bad and it is a shame they all get bunched together like this, I know some really nice truck drivers
