Happy camping.

How does it pull? Any sway?

Over the weekend on took my 2014 Boost and Keystone Springdale 29RK1SSR out for a little "Relaxation".....first time with this truck, and I was real happy with it....I mean cruising down the highway at 60-65 with the cruise control on, in 6th gear!-thats awesome.
Also I like what Ford did withTow/Haul Mode....the truck ....after you let off the gas going down a steep grade down shifts on its own to 3rd and holds the trailer actually pretty decent - like it.
But....this is when things get funky - we get this vibration from the trailer....real bad! (I'm thinking low tire somewhere)...maybe loose lug nuts? (I'm already inspected before I left!)
Pull over in Payson AZ....find out all 4 (make it 5!...cause the spare and tire trailer mount vibrated off the frickin trailer and bounced across the highway ..WTF>NEVER had that happen before!
So....all the Carlisle 8 ply tire belts were separating on the 8 side of the tire!! (Got on a Keystone Forum site and found that this happens A LOT with those sh** tires)
By the way....the tires looked brand new...tread and all?!
Put 10 plys on....solved that issue.....never thought I would be.."That Guy on the side of the road!"
Had to pull in on a Saturday and wait until Monday to fix....ended up in a over age 55 campground/old folks trailer park?! Ooooo....hell no@> not again, for sure!

Nice looking rig! We were at Destin all last week so not too far from you guys. Might go to Gulf Shores...what campsite and would you recommend it? If not, what would you do different or recommend?

Except for one trip home on an 8 hour drive into 60mph wind gusts, we haven't had any sway challenges.
I did have to completely take this hitch off and re-install with a full adjustment when we got the new camper as the stealership did a crap job of adjusting the hitch properly.
The wife LOVES this camper and as long as she's happy, I'm pretty comfy.

Yeah....and I got on the Keystone Forum and....well...I...sort of... (not happy)....asked the same questions. ...why would you put those cheap 8 ply tires with those cap lug nuts (you know the ones that have that thin metal cover over the lug nut itself?...cause the dude servicing your trailer axle bearings is blasting them with the air wrench - this stripping the outside)...> but I digress?!
Sooo....I get an email.back stating that they removed my thread on the grounds that it wasn't a recall situation. Fine...but WTH!
Hey I'm sure that their are members who disagree with me but...... (paper or plastic?!)...I couldn't get those frickin tires off quick enough!
10 plys are a better choice ...

Gulf State park is where we camped. It's nice I would definitely recommend it. One thing don't camp on the main road it's busy with traffic in the summer. Another place we want to try in that area is Johnny's RV. It has a water park for the kids.
