I have a 2013 screw 4x4 xtr 5.0 with 3.55 tow package. I pull a 2014 Salem 27Dbud (6049 dry 7777 GVWR). The trailer ranges from 7000 to 7500 lbs loaded, depending on who and where we go. Payload on the truck is only 1431lbs...(I call BS on that by the way) I use a WD hitch and also have the firestone ride rite air bags( best $350 upgrade you can buy). Tows like a dream here in the Rugged terrain of Newfoundland Canada. The truck is rated to tow 7500 (I call BS on this too).... The truck has more than enough power and then some. The 3.55s are fine towing this weight and tranny temp is fine. I fill the bags with about 50-60 PSI when towing the trailer. Next trip out I'll snap a few pics to post.

I have a 2012 27 DSRL Jaco 7500lbs fully loaded. The 2013XLT pulls great, just need to lock out 6th gear to prevent searching. The Reese strait line with sway control helps too.

Agreed. The 6 speed lock out feature does help. I usually lock out 6 and sometimes 5th on those long grade mountains here in Gros Morne National Park.

Thanks. I knew a v8 could tow a travel trailer that wasn't a pop-up! But to hear anyone else talk about it, you'd think the only trucks that should have trailer hitches at all, are the eco boosts.

I'm not saying the eco boost isn't a good torque making motor, but the 5.0 isn't a bad engine either. Just have to wind it up a bit. No big deal.

Yah those goofball factory engineers, in a market where tow capacity is a huge advertising item, and all modern manufacturers try to use the least amount of material they possibly can to do the job (weight and material cost savings) they deliberately under rate tow ratings......

Picked up new toy yesterday.
Kodiak 214 Hybrid.

I was so surprised how well it pulled on the highway, hardly knew it was there.

Nice! Are you running with a WD Hitch? Gotta love the hybrid campers! Perfect balance between a pop up camper and a full size unit. I had a Viking Epic 1906 pop up for over 10 years before I traded up to my Prowler.

Go Team Canada!!

I have a Husky WDH on it with sway. Tongue is 370 dry, trailer is 4200 dry as well, but I spend a lot of time on rougher roads, so it will help it from bouncing the rear a lot. Looked at getting a 26 ft TT, but wanted the lightness of this unit, plus I got it for an awesome price.
