Odometer miles; GVWR; oil used, frequency of change, other fluid changes; maintenance problems so far; upgrades; etc.

thanks in advance.

Odometer miles 8540 GVRW 7700 lbs, oil used 5w30 motorcraft first oil change was 2k then 5k then 8k, only problem was a check engine the day it got -28f there is a reflash for the air temp sensor. only upgrade I have is timbren rubber overload springs.

We just picked this 36 foot Fun Finder toy hauler from Muskegon MI. Made a pretty fun road trip out of it. I looked and researched quite a bit before getting this one. XT-330 is their brand new model they just came out with. Ecoboost pulled it just fine, barely got out of 6th gear only when driving thru the hills. Fuel Consumption was pretty bad, about 7.5 mpg and going around 65 mph.

It is quite an upgrade from our old setup (7x16 enclosed trailer) we use for motorcycle track days. Our old enclosed trailer was fully insulated with ac/heat, we had a blow up mattress in it and used it to sleep over night at the race tracks, but it was very limited for living in it.

Great setup, What kind of toy will you be hauling? I have been looking at the FunFinder 30' but the extra living space would be great. Still trying to see if my 150 could handle the extra length/weight.

Ecoboost sounds like a monster. That being said, I think you would be best to just lock it out of 6th gear. Save your transmission. it's not like it would hurt the MPGs any.

With my truck, it actually gets better mileage locked out of 6th, I have tow/haul on lock out 6th. It keeps the turbos spooled up a bit better, I would say prob a 3-5 mpg diff. In 6th is seems to be lugging, speeds are 110 kph.

How do you lock out 6th and use the tow/haul mode? What is the process?

Thanks

I noticed that if I used cruise it consistently wanted to hold one gear lower than if I didn't use it resulting in worse mph while using cruise.

Not sure if the '11 lariat has the feature now. If you have a +/- on the gear shifter, just hit the - signs so that 6 is no longer visible on the dashboard.
