They are 4000# axles. Most come with 3500# axles, but the stronger the better. A lot of vehicles weigh more than people think they do. In hindsight, I should have got the 16' trailer instead of 18'.
The rain can make wheeling more interesting, but it makes the camping miserable.

This is exactly one of the reasons I got my trailer the length I did so that I could put a slide in camper on the front! Wont have to deal with setting up a tent in mud. I think the worst part was packing up. Then getting home taking the tent all back out, washing it and repacking.

Yes, the mast lays flat on top of the boat. We were setting her up just before dropping in the water.
