Nope, not kidding. I came from the diesel world and this thing towed moderate at best. Total load was less than 6500lbs I believe, and the truck struggled on what I'd consider reasonable grades. In its defense it has highway gears and with no load you can feel its a torquey beast at low RPM's, just not enough IMHO.

My EcoBoost pull 28 foot cruiser...About 10.5K and I never used more that 50 percent throttle. I have the 3.73 gears and I am very pleased.

That's how I use to haul hay with my '93 heavy chebby 2500. It hauled it but was about all it had in it to do it. It also popped the bed welds at the cab end.
