Just wanted to double check

Hi everyone,

Just picked up my truck this week and might have stumbled upon a deal I can't pass up for my first Travel trailer. I'm a total newb to towing stuff so I just wanted to double check with the experts if I'm going to be overexerting my truck with this set up.

Truck specs are 2012 ECOSCREW FX4. According to the Ford site has a maximum tow rating of 11,200 lbs (although I can't find that on the door sticker anywhere) The trucks GVWR is 7650 and the Payload capacity is 1566.

Trailer specs are 32' Viewfinder V-28RLSS. GVWR is 7710 (Dry Weight is 5785) It says the hitch weight is 710 lbs.

I'm assuming I'm very good to go with this set up since my payload is double the hitch weight and the GVWR is well under the 11,200 max tow rating of the truck, However my payload will go down as I rhino line my truck, undercoat it for rust proofing and load stuff in it for the camping trips.

Am I cutting this too close?

You've got plenty of truck to haul that trailer. However, I'd still recommend a weight-distributing hitch, and be aware of 'where' in the trailer you locate that 1500lbs of cargo in the trailer.

Are we to assume it has the Max tow package?

And here's an RV forum I'm on:

Yeah sorry to clarify it does have max tow. Thats why I listed the 11,200 that Ford advertises and not the 9,300 that it is without max tow.

Thanks for the feedback Galaxieman!!
