I'm going to add the factory unit.

But you don't want an aftermarket.

The Ford built-in controller is much better, tied into the truck's sensors. And can be added after you get the truck. But the truck does need to be flashed.

For 2015 model year, the integrated trailer brake controller (ITBC) wsa included as part of the max tow pkg, and it was optional equipment on any Lariat that doesn't have the max tow pkg.

I need to make sure my truck will have it and it's coming from another dealer.

Then look at the window sticker and be sure it includes either the max tow pkg or the ITBC.

I looked on the Ford website and neither the tow package or the FX4 package list it as part of their package.

Right. It's included with the max tow package, but otherwise it's a stand-alone option on a Lariat.
