To the OP, sounds like that was a labor quote to install and program. I put in a TBC in my previous 2009 FX4, and my dealer charged me 1/4 labor hour to program it. In and out in about 10 minutes for that one.
Crazy enough, my Ford dealer has an aftermarket department in their service center. This is all they do! The guy seemed pretty bummed when I said I would do it myself for half that cost. I know they have to make money, but that is ridiculous. I would hate to see what they are charging for some of the "premodded" new trucks they have on their lot. They look great, but I bet they are proud of them...

OP: sorry for the highjack. I think you got your answer, but my service guy did the programming in my brother's truck for 1/4 hour labor.
