thanks just what I wanted to hear. I’m kinda getting it now I think. When loaded the front end wil rise more so I’ll prob have to go to link 9 to bring it down within that 1/2” range recommended from original front fender height which is 38”. The rear also measured out at 38” too if that matters but seems the front wheel well height is the more important one.

Returning as much back to the front axle is key. This is why an unloaded weight is a good thing. That way when you scale with the trailer hooked, and the front weight matches loaed to empty, then you are pretty much set and don't really need to do anything more.

Makes a lot more sense now. Thanks for all the help.

I believe that in the Blue Ox literature it says there should be approximately 2" of "bow" in the bars when loaded. We have about a 775# (bathroom scale & board method) tongue weight, 1000# bars and we run on link 8 which gives us that 2" bow and our front fender well measurements are within 1/4" of the unloaded measurement. Pulls our Cruise Lite 210RKXL fine for all the trips we have taken - about 2000 miles so far. We tried link 9 and it seemed to porpoise more so 8 it is...

good to know. This makes me believe like I think that once loaded I'll have to get to link 9 as 8 links provided the bow and 1/4" diff in front wheel height wit an unloaded truck but adding up to 1000 lbs I'll def need to go up a link to bring the front end down as my tongue weight will be around 1050 with 1500# bars.

My trailer is still in the barn due to the ground being soft, don't want it to sink in just yet. I ordered a hitch holder that mounts to the frame and holds the bars and the head, and locks in place using the pin if you have the locking type. Gives me more room in the pass through. Also ordered a set up JT Strong Arms to stabilize it, so once those are installed, want to work on it on the concrete pad in the barn, then I will take mine on a drive on a calm day and see how it rolls. I'm expecting a much better drive now with the truck fixed, so fingers crossed, it will handle very well. Mine is setup to return all the empty weight to the front axle.

How did it handle bringing it home?
Took measurements of everything I could think of other than the scales not sure what else I can do to make sure this is setup right.

Top of ball is 24"
Wdh Bars set to link 8

With dry camper hooked to truck top of coupler is 23"
Loaded camper Rear wheel 37 1/2"
Dry camper rear wheel 38"
Front wheel is 38" both with dry and loaded camper

Camper Hooked without wdh bars. Rear wheel 37 1/2"
front 38 1/2"

Bottom of camper frame front 24" rear 24 1/2" when hooked to truck and wdh connected.
