Just purchased a NEW 2013 F150 4x4 Supercrew EcoBoost 3.5 V6 Electronic 6spdauto with 3.55 Electronic Lock RR Axle, 7350 GVWR, Beak Controller, TrailerSway Control, Trailer Tow Package,

Is this enough information for any of you to tell me what I can tow trailerwise, both a travel trailer and or a 5th Wheel?

Also interested in Tonneau Cover, in particular the AccessBrand, I had one on my last truck from 2006 through yesterday when I traded itin on this new one, and it was parked outside all of the time and it stilllooked and worked great. Anyone have other suggestions?

I have the same exact truck and we just purchased a Jayco Whitehawk 28DSBH camper and I've done ALOT of research and this was the reason we went with the ecoboost over the 5.0. As for tonneau covers, I bought a Access cover. I went with the basic cover because the low profile one wouldn't be tall enough to fit big coolers or storage containers. Good luck

Ooh boy.... Here we go again. Lol. You'll probably get a multi page thread about tongue weight, payload, front/ rear axle weights, GVWR, GCWR..... It's endless.

However, There should be a section in your manual about trailer towing. It's pretty strait forward. There's a chart that helps you narrow down your vehicle specifics and gives you your max trailer weight. If you don't find info there, google trailer tow capacity for your truck. It's on the Ford website.

Keep it simple, use your head, and just follow the manufacturer'a recommendations.

And if I might just add- it's great to do your homework, but it's also possible to google the fun out of things. Like Jcooper said, use your head, follow the manual, enjoy the memories you're making. Google too much, you'll see guys telling you to pull a house at 90mph and some that will have you worried that a full bladder could cause your axles to instantly self destruct causing you to slam into a van full of puppies and babies.

As mentioned, most of the basics are in the manual. At the risk "of taking the fun out of it", I will tell you the truck is rated to pull more than you actually can. The tow rating is very high, but the payload rating is not. The little yellow sticker on the door jamb will tell you the weight the truck can actually haul. Use that number and start subtracting the weight of the people, gear, hitch and tongue weight, and you will get a good feel for what you can tow. Boats typically put 10% of the total combo weight on the tongue, Travel trailers vary from 10-20%. Empty tongue weight on a travel trailer is a fantasy number. Look at the GCWR for the trailer, take 12% of that, and use it for your guesstimated actual tongue weight. Fifth wheel with that truck will not likely be doable, payload capacity is to low (pin weight for the fifth wheels to high).
