Hey Gents,

New here, I have a 2011 F-150 xlt 4x4 screw 3.5 EcoBoost 5.5 ft bed with the max tow package I believe. My hitch has a sticker with the rating of 11500 lbs and tongue weight of 1150 lbs.

I am looking to tow a cougar 34tsb tt. It’s dry weight is 8548 gvwr 10500.

Mods are e rated ridge grapplers 290 70 18 and I also put rear fox 2.0 shocks on it and 2” rough country level. soon will put on the 2.0 coil overs to get a better ride and keep the 2” level

Will i I be able to tow it? From what I have found I believe I will be good but defiantly in the higher end of my capacity

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated and I’ll attach a few pictures

Max tongue weight of 1,150 pounds. Subtract 100 for the WDH, divide by 13% for avg tongue weight = 8,077 pounds.

For those that say you don't subtract the wdh (don't agree), 1,150/.13 = 8,846.

So no.

Of course if your 1,850 pound payload, minus all the mods you made, minus the weight of you, your family, and all the stuff they bring, goes below 1,150 then it's even a lower limit.

That trailer gross is 1365 tongue weight at 13%, so no, your truck can't handle it. Add in roughly 1500 pounds cargo and you are looking at 10,348 pounds which at 13% comes in at 1306 pounds tongue weight. You will need to upgrade the receiver to a Max Tow receiver in order to tow that trailer.

Tonneau cover, heavier tires and what ever else like floor mats s you added all of subtracted from the 1850. Empty I would say your payload now is about 1600.
So no way.

One thing they don't say is that lift/level will probably hurt your ability to tow. The weight of a trailer will compress the rear so you'll be looking at the sky.

Only if the WDH is incorrectly setup. If you can't get the trailer level with the included drop shank, just get a bigger one. A leveled truck though can be a pain if you can't get the nose down enough, in which case, don't level a truck you plan to tow with frequently.

+1

For a modified truck like yours, its well worth the $10 or whatever to go get a real curb weight. Available payload is (GVWR - weight of truck), and yours is going to be less than your door jam sticker. I'd start the bidding that your real payload is more like 1600.

for your information, my tt is 31' long. gvwr 7500# and my front and rear weight axles are: 3125 and 3960# we are only 2 adults no wood and nothing in bed apart fiber box but I have a hdpp with 2550# and 7850#. front axle capacity 3750# and rear 4800#. so with bigger travel trailer you'll be overweighted for sure. I have a 2019 and yours 2011 has more weight at base maybe 700# more so you have less payload available on rear axle than me, maybe youll be over 1000# and more +++on rear axle with a 34 35' tt
