Default Leveling set up

These steps are simply a guide, i am not an affiliate of the manufacture, nor do i assume any responsibility to the safety at your work site. always follow the manufactures instructions and precautions. The loads and kinetic energy of these tasks are deadly, and should be treated with respect to avoid loss of life and limb.

1. When your finished your headlights should remain properly adjusted. Start by measuring the angle of your unloaded truck on the surface that your going to set up your trailer on. Use a level positioned on the bed of the truck running the length of the truck. when finished you should be able to duplicate this angle.

2. Now position the trailer behind the vehicle in its level state by measuring at the center of the wheel house from the ground a support cross member that supports the level inner floor. Now using the landing gear, duplicate that measurement as far forward as possible.

3. Install the L shaped tow bar in the 2' receiver and install the hitch pin and keeper. With the ball installed on the knuckle, position the top of the ball about an inch above the top of the trailer socket height, and install the lower mounting bolt and locking washers, spin the nut on until it touches the nylon insert. let the top of the knuckle lay back to expose the Rivet hole.

NOTE: depending on the angles, tongue weights and heights of your set up, things are not always the same for the next steps and will require an adjust and test technique. You may wish to employ a half inch impact to run the bolts in and out.

4. Installing more washers behind the rivet will force more weight to the front axle. There should be a slightly negative pitch when the correct number of washers are installed behind the rivet. Install the top bolt and washers, have someone press the ball forward as you torque the top bolt to the manufactures specification. Now tighten the lower bolt to the specification.

5. Measure the trailer tongue height so it can be put back to that position after connecting the trailer to the truck. Return the trailer to the level. position.

6. install the drop arms on the trailer according to the manufactures instructions, now install the round bars and adjust the hole thing until your trailer is level and the truck is pitched as if the trailer wasn't hooked up. You may have to add or subtract washers to the rivet or raise and lower the drop arms, or the ball height.

Note: it is normal to have to lift the truck using the landing gear 3 or 4 inches to install the round bars.

This image was my first attempt and i had to add a washer to the knuckle and lower the ball one position. i didn't take a post adjustment picture but it looks a lot better now.
