Truck pulls it great and now that I have the hitch setup correctly it feels good too. I did change my gears from 3.55s to 4.10s though. Due to the 35" tires, it would hunt gears bad even towing my lowboy and side x side. Much better now with the 4.10s. Lock out 6th and let that 5.0 eat!

I consider myself pretty sharp mechanically, but for the life of me I don't understand how these things raise the rear of the truck. Seems like the force of these bent bars would just be distributed between the attach points and do nothing else.

You are somewhat correct. Basically the EQ bars are attached to the trailer frame and the truck frame (thru the hitch obviously) which makes that vertical swivel point more rigid keeping the *** end of the truck from sagging so much.

Ok that makes it much more clear. Basically it stops the v from developing between the trailer and tow vehicle. Others have mentioned lowering the front end. Plus I was able to see it installed yesterday. It made it more clear to me.

Celtic - When they talk about lowering the front-end, they are talking about lowering it back down after hitching the trailer. When the V forms, the *** end goes down and the front end goes up. So the WD hitch lowers the front end back down (also raises the *** end back up).

How much did it cost you for your gear swap? I am considering going to 4.10's in mine as well, also planning level and 33 or 35" tires sometime in the near future.

I wasnt having problems with the truck dropping gears until we took the interstate this weekend to the lake with camper. Hills at/near highway speeds had it shifting down all the time. We have started to plan a camping trip to FL next spring and want to have the truck ready for the long trip.

How did the regear effect your daily fuel mileage? Thanks TJ

It was right at $1800 for the gear swap. My average mileage actually got better by about 1 mpg. However on a fairly decent hill it will still kick down to 4th gear to maintain speed. If you don't mind losing some speed it will maintain 5th, but I normally kick it down.
