I got my BOSS HTX 7'6" Poly plow installed today on my 2016 XLT FX4, but they had to remove the front skid plate, for plow frame to fit.

Any real downside to that being gone? Is there a way to make it refit? Too late/dark for photos, but I am curious if there is a way for me to get it back on, or if it's bad to have it off, or if it exposes too much.

The truck barely sags at all when plow is in the air. It'll be great for plowing my long driveway. Especially with my bad back. No more snow blower.

Very nice set up. I convinced my father to buy a boss in 2001, he was a Meyer guy since I can remember and to this day the plow if flawless and problem free !

Did you get your truck with the snow plow prep package? What exactly does the button turn on/off anyway??

It came with the prep package, yes. It only comes on the 5.0 motor variation. It turns things off like heated seats, and a couple other things (which I haven't figured out yet), to give the electrical power to plow.

Hmm..one would think heated seats would be nice while your plowing...specially if the windows are down

The Snow Plow Mode disables the following features (if equipped) to maintain required electrical charge margins during plow operation/use:
110-volt/400-watt outlets
Fog lamps
Heated steering wheel
Heated front/rear seats
Multicontour front seats with Active Motion
