I have the exact same specs on my truck. Got that mileage pulling a 22ft hybrid trailer, 4200lbs dry all over the BC Rockies for 4000km. Lots of long, steep climbs as well as lots of coasting down hill.

Lots of posts on this. Depends on whether you use tow/haul mode, lock out the higher gears to prevent constant shifting, drive on flat vs. hills, how aerodynamic your trailer is, etc.

12 mpg is very respectable.

I have a '13 XLT Super Crew 4x4 w/ Off Road pkg with 3.55s and stock tires w/ 20s. I pull a 20' 3000lb Center Console boat w/ single axle trailer. My usual trips are 100 miles round trip at +/- 55mph on flat land. I average 14mpg. I dont know if that gives you a starting point or not. I dont use tow/haul mode or lock out any gears as im only pulling 3000lbs

Not with a popup! We consistently got 17 mpg towing a popup with a 4x4 5.4L F150 with 3.73's.

If you are getting 12 mpg pulling a popup, something else is in play. Speed? Lifted? Huge tires?

We get 11 mpg towing a full size 5,500 lb RV trailer at 60 mph with our current truck.

I recently towed a travel trailer of ~6000# to the Texas Hill Country. At 65 mph, I averaged 10.2 mpg. The hills were the big factor in the mpgs, as I couldn't keep it in the OD gears for very long. I also bucked some wind on the return trip, which dropped it to 9.9 mpg. I have also towed a utility trailer (~2000# gross wt loaded) on flatter terrain and averaged 14.5-15 mpg at the same speed.

A pop up should be but a minor annoyance to your truck. I'd expect better than that when hauling a pop up.

What speed are you hauling at? Hilly terrain?
