TFL truck - New River Gauntlet
Nathan and Roman compare the Chevy 3500, Dodge 3500, and F-350 diesels up a short trip towing 12000 lbs of similar 5th wheels at 7% grade but only 2700 feet elevation. All truck were 3.73 gears and this will be the same F-350 that will take on the Ike gauntlet in the future. Here is the link:

The Chevy was first and got up the hill in 2:50. Next was the new and improved Ford which flew up the hill in 2:36. It was so fast, in fact, that Nathan even had to let off the gas going around a curve. Finally, the Dodge did the run in 2:46.
Other than the times, Roman and Nathan commeted on the interior in which they like the Dodge most and the Ford least. Also, the Ford was quietest and the Dodge was the loudest. In the video, the Dodge is really frickin' loud. It also makes an unknown 'sound' during the run.
Again, this was low elevation. From the way Nathan described the power of the new 6.7L Ford though, the F-350 should not only beat the others, but do so by a good margin. The new engine is a BEAST!

That was a pretty good shootout.
All the 1-ton rigs are such monsters it's got to be hard to compare. Downhill speed management is equally as important and pure up-hill power. Same with acceleration (from a stop), steering, braking, etc., none of which was really included in this shoot out. But still, great non-biased review!
That super duty is a BEAST!

More interesting video:
http://www.tfltruck.com/2014/08/tow-...-diesel-video/
It is now an F-450 towing 26,900 lbs. GCWR was 36,200 lbs! This was probably with just a driver so weight of truck, hitch, and driver is 9,300 lbs. Add in Roman and Nathan and you are at 9800 lbs GVW! Amazingly enough, they were probably over GVWR since anything over 15% hitch with a 26,900 lb trailer would have put them over 14,000 lbs GVWR. I am sure the F-450 was underrated in GVWR to keep it a class 3 truck.
The guy in the video gives some insight on the improved diesel as well, but doesn't explain how the actual F-450 is different than before.
