Default Front brake pad recommendations

I know, this is like asking "what is the best oil" but I do have a bit of clarification. My F150 was bought as a tow vehicle for our roughly 6500# travel trailer. I want to get replacement pads that are good for the extra demand the TT adds and I want pads that will be as dust free as possible. At this time I'm not ready to replace the rotors but that could happen some day in the future (I get some pulsing on long down hills).

Suggestions? I have used EBC brakes on my motorcycles - good for trucks?

If you look at Rockauto, they list pads by grade. Just a suggestion while you wait for folks with real life experiences to chime in.

I have Powerstop Z36 pads and rotors that I put on specifically for towing, and they work great. If you are using stock rotors though, I suggest EBC pads since they have break in material that works well with used rotors with just a scuffing.

To do them right you really should have the disks turned on a lathe, but that takes away material that would otherwise be used to dissipate heat. If they are true, without runout, then a rotary scuff pad on a drill can be used to get the old pad material off and deglaze the disk so that the new pads have something to grab on to and transfer material.

After reading a bunch of reviews I am looking at the EBC greenstuff 7000 series pads (the rotors will have to wait a while...). Anyone use these and have an opinion on them?

I put Powerstop Z36 rotors and pads on my truck Saturday. Front brakes and rotors went on in minutes. I had a problem with the back brakes though. I could not compress the caliper enough to get the rear pads to fit no matter how hard I tried.

I actually ended up putting the original pads back in on the back since they are in good shape.

That said, The brakes work beautifully!!!!

Not on the F150, but I did put a full set of Greenstuff on a 2010 Fusion Sport, and they were amazing! As I mentioned before, the break in compound really grips the rotors and gets the pads to bond quickly. They are dirty for the first thousand miles or so, but so were the Powerstops.

There is a review on Youtube between Stock F150, PowerStop, and the EBC brakes.

The EBC Greenstuff Brakes were the best with the Powerstop coming in a close second. 1ft longer stopping distance from 60.
