Default Found a Unicorn/HDPP Lariat on lot...

It is a to far of a drive for me, being in upstate NY, though it looks like a place out in Washington State has a HDPP for $41k. Granted it doesn't have anything other than HDPP and Max Tow. Most importantly it lacks the 36 Gal tank. My dealer was quoting me about $48k+ rebates for the 2017, so it seems like that is a good price.

Note: Dealer got 3.5 stars and the "listed price" is well above the MSRP price, so they make it look like it is $15k off, though it is closer to $10k off.

Not a bad price but you're correct in that it doesn't have much for options and 41K is a decent price but nothing special. I'd wait and order in 4 months so when it arrives there are some rebates, not sure if you can wait 5-6 months for your truck though...

That's no problem for any Ford service department with a tech that has at least two brain cells to rub together. My local itty bitty Ford dealer's tech replaced the 26-gallon gas tank on my 4x2 with with a 36-gallon version for a 4x4 with no problem.

I am going to wait up to a year to buy one. I think the new 10spd with 3.5EB is worth the wait. Still don't know if I am going to purchase the HDPP or not. I keep waffling, so maybe it is a good thing I am waiting. I know I can save a few grand by waiting.till next year for a left over 2017.

After thinking about it for a little bit, if this had the 36 gallon tank and was at my local dealer, I would go shoot some number with them......................Nice find!!!!!

Nice find. Why they would order a HDPP without tow mirrors and 36-gallon tank?

If I got a HDPP, I am not a fan of the dumbo ears, I don't tow a whole lot and I can always use the slide on ones. I am only looking at HDPP for a truck loaded with family and towing a travel trailer. I also question why no 36 Gallon tank, though on the sticker it says "custom order", so I guess some customer ordered it and never took delivery on it. I have seen dumber things where a dealership orders towing package, 3.55 axle, and trailer controller, which ends up costing more than the Max Tow. You get less for more.

2,500 miles is a bit a hike for me and am waiting for the 10 speed. Plus wife would kill me.

According to my estimates easily north of 2400, I wouldn't be surprised if it was over 2500, according to my calculator it could be ~2545. Keep in mind it is missing 83lbs of gas and the upgraded tank.
