Focus Towing

You can buy a cheap Crown Vic or even a beater F150 for like a grand or two and probably tow way more, with a lot less of a hassle. I wouldn't tow more than like a jetski on a light FWD car.

Here's a complete list of Ford Focus towing capacity from the UK, and pretty much the rest of Europe.
Now I may be cynic, but I wonder if they are trying to persuade us here in the US to buy bigger cars, SUVs and trucks.
I grew up in the UK we were always dragging something behind either a caravan (travel trailer) or boat or motorbikes..... never occurred to us we needed a truck frankly!!
(That said I do like my truck now)

I don't think thr game plan to improve large car sales includes penalizing the 1% of small car owners that would tow.
Like I said, there's not enough payload capacity in rhe us models. We get softer rear suspensions in compacts due to higher average speeds and lower average weight.

Yeah, I posted this pretty much tongue in cheek to weed out the weight police ( I happen to be one myself LMAO). Am kind of surprised that it didn't come down to that. Anyway, we decided that we may just sell the Focus and get a nice used Flex. It will suit us just fine and I wont need to take my truck every time we decide to go out somewhere.

As scary as towing with a focus sounds as friend I grew up with and his parents towed an 18foot Larson fiberglass boat with a Chrysler K car wagon in the 80s. I remember sitting on the hood on some boat ramps so they could get traction. It was a stick too, oh the things people used to do!

This is a guy at our Wisconsin branch, he said who needs a truck lol. It was only for 2 miles at 35mph, if he's going north he uses his truck.
