Used tow/haul when towing the rest of the trip; shifted out of tow/haul several times into manual 3rd when decending Monarch Pass, tow haul kept shifting down into 2nd and 4500 rpm.

Can you down shift into 3rd without leaving D? I know you can lock out 5 and 6.

My lariat has a manual mode and you can downshift to any lower gear that the computer will let you shift into. Tow haul worked great going up steep grades but it kept downshifting into 2nd gear and 4700 rpm on steep downgrades. I used manual to up shift into 3rd to keep the rpms down. Engine braking is less but going down Monarch Pass in Colorado on 6% grades manual mode worked great for me.
