So I received my power fold mirrors from 1A Auto yesterday, and Im reading thru the wiring instructions ( mine has the wiring kit and switch ) and they mention instructional videos on YouTube and all I need to do is enter my trucks make, model, power fold, upgrade into the search and the videos should come up, I found no videos. Anyone find these videos ?

I could not find the videos. Once I got going, it was a simple install. The videos would have saved a lot of time and guess work.

I looked a few weeks ago myself and couldn't find anything specifically about these new mirrors.

Here are my mirrors. Bottom light is a "courtesy" light and the top is blinker. Does anyone know which wires to splice to convert the courtsry light to a running light?

You have to unplug the brown wire with bullet crimp (at the mirror plug). You then need to run a parking light wire from the passenger kick-panel to the brown wire at each mirror. In another post you will see a picture of the plug in the kick that has the blue/yellow parking light wire to tap in to.

This is what i did.... when you get in and start your truck if you notice that both of your doors.. the switches for windows and lock are always illuminated.... i simply spliced into the wire powering the illumination for those switches and the ties it in to the wire that would power you "puddle lights". Now this will more so make it a DRL vs a running/parking light but i kinda like the idea of that.

Do you remember the wire colors for those wires?
Also, I now have a lot of outside noise above 40mph. Are any of you experiencing this? Occasionally i would get it with my original mirrors but only if the wind was just right and only about 55mph or so but it was tolerable. I am getting the same noise but now it is constant and more audible starting at 40mph and can hear it from both sides of the cab. Maybe some of the film stuck inside the door panel didn't stick so well or is this just how its going to be? i have ridden in f150s, 250s and 350s with tow mirrors and haven't heard any noise.
- i have read that it could be the way the mirrors are mounted to the A-frame. Adjusting the bolts may help. I guess i can mess around with them but to me, tight is tight and it should seat correctly

That sounds like a remarkably simple way to get the puddle lights to function as side markers. Any chance you could do a write up with some pictures?

I've been thinking about tapping that wire for my mirror running light as well. The only difference is that if you turn your lights on during the day, the door switch lamps don't turn on.

So it's only going to work at night.

Do you remember the wire color?
