I own 1AMRp01415 $499.95 - this is what the bottom of the mirror looks like. there are no puddle lamps.

Having my quality team check into this SKU to see what may have happened.

After some research, it appears the '13 powerfold mirrors function the same. No puddle, only a marker light. And also no rear facing turn signal.

On the new power fold tows the side light id used as the directional, (I believe you can also wire it as a marker light).

The oem power folds have two bulbs. None on bottom of the mirror. One bulb in the mirror acts as a signal light the other bulb comes on with doors open and is a running light. That's it that's all.

I'm definitely interested in swapping the lights. Quick question: is that amber light just a simple plug in or is there other wiring involved?
Sorry, I've cleared some space in my inbox.

Below is a picture of the OE amber tow mirror lights:

Unfortunately, I just noticed when taking this picture that the RH lens has a small crack in it - you can see it at the bottom left of the lens. It doesn't go all the way through to the top or sides of the lens, it's just underneath/inside of it.

The lens on the left has a LH on it, so it's for the driver's side mirror.

Below is a YouTube video I found showing how to pop the light out of the frame of the mirror:

In that video you can see the wires that go into the lenses. They have a connector on the end, and the bulbs that you can see at the bottom of the picture of my amber lenses plug into the connectors, and the connectors screw into the back of the lens housing.

If you don't want to swap for that lens that has the crack, I understand.

Do these tow mirrors "auto dim" as well as the factory mirrors I have?

Just curious because it is not mentioned in any of the posts in this thread...

Tony, if you could pm me.

Or if anyone knows

I don't know for sure.

However, none of the OEM Tow Mirrors have auto-dim.

The standard size mirrors that have the auto-dim feature are auto-dim only on the driver's side, not the passenger side.

So....I'm pretty certain that no aftermarket tow mirrors will have the driver's side auto-dim if the OEM tow mirrors don't have it.

We currently do not have them with the auto dim feature. Thanks for asking.
