Looked up your window sticker. Your truck has the standard tow package and NOT the max tow package. It does have the factory IBC. Do not use any towing numbers for the MAX Tow option.

You have the standard tow package. Like the sticker on your hitch says, if you do not use a WDH the hitch can pull a 5000 lb trailer with a 500 lb tongue weight. If you do use a WDH the hitch can pull a 10500 lb trailer with a 1050 lb tongue weight - however your payload capacity will not allow you to pull a 10500 lb trailer.

As I've said numerous times in my other posts to you - A FULL TANK OF GAS IS FIGURED INTO THE PAYLOAD CAPACITY!

Your 1355 lb payload capacity is for your completely empty truck as it came off the assembly line, except it includes a full tank of gas!

Therefore, subtract the 550 lbs of people and tonneau cover, and you have 805 lbs remaining for weight on the hitch.

Your WDH hitch head will probably weigh in the range of 50 lbs, so that would leave you 755 lbs of tongue weight.

To stay within the weight limits of your truck, the maximum weight trailer you could pull is a 7550 lb trailer with a 10% tongue weight of 755 lbs.

The only thing we don't know is what the weight on your rear axle is, and you'd need to stop by a CAT scale to weigh your rig to know exactly what the weights on axles are.

Bottom line - The trailer you're looking at with a 5530 lb dry weight will allow you to load almost 2000 lbs into it, but that will bring you right up to your truck's limit. If you can keep it to around a max of 7000 lbs, and load it so the tongue weight isn't more than 750 lbs, you should be good to go!!

Happy Camping!!

My truck is basically identical to yours. I tow a 29" which weights in at about 7400# max for us. It is rated at 8500# with a dry weight of 6475#. Specs
http://www.jayco.com/products/travel...e-hawk/29reks/

My truck weight in at 6000# at the scales and with Truck and Loaded Trailer...about 13,300 total combo. I am right at the GVWR for the truck with myself and wife in the truck...but no problems towing whatsoever.
I do run E-rated tires at 50/60 psi front/rear.

Yours is rated to pull 9600#s and 7200#gvwr for the truck. As with mine, once you add the tongue weight you are right on the max for your GVWR. You really need to know more about your actual travel trailer weight...and definitely have to have a good WDHitch. My trailer is 33" front hitch to end, so probably heavier than yours. You should have no problem if you are set up correctly.

Wow, thanks. I understand now, sorry about that.

When I was trying to read the information that ford sent me it looked like if you have the f150 3.5 ecoboost that it comes standard from the factory with the heavy duty tow package. Also I don't know if it matters but I'm from Canada so I don't know if the packages are the same. why the hell are most people saying I could tow like 10000 pounds.

I know when we decide to go camping we don't pack a lot of stuff with us. So if I went with a 7500 pound trailer I would be over for sure? I would rather try to say as light as possible for a camper but don't want to go to small. I should of got the v8 instead of the ecoboost. From what the dealership said was a ecoboost would be able to pull more.

I'm just really dumb when it comes to trucks and never pulled anything, electronics is my area lol. The girlfriend will be the one setting up the camper and pulling it lol.

If you owned my truck and was looking at a camper for the family what size of trailer would u be looking at? Would it be less then a 30foot and under 5000lbs just to be on the safe side or go with the one I want?

I don't think we would be driving to far with the trailer, but nice to know it's not going to kill the poor truck.

I don't know who those people are, but if they're RV/TT sales people, the bigger and more expensive trailer they sell you, the more money they make.

Most sales guys will tell you anything in order to get a sale.

Doesn't the hitch with sablizaler u buy at the rv shop actually take weight off the truck so u can pull better?

Not much info on the trailer we want just says length 30.9ft with the hitch. Dry weight 5530

So I take it I don't have that transmission cooler? Cause that doesn't come with the standard tow package. Kind of scares me knowing I don't have that

The key objective for the hitch is weight distribution. It's not magic and cannot make weight disappear, only redistributes it for more stable towing. For example, below are my recent scale numbers for a new enclosed car-hauler I recently picked up. As you can see the WD hitch took 340lbs off the rear axle of the truck. It shifted 240lbs of that back to the front axle (leveling it out), and shifted 100lbs back to the trailer. With the WD hitch in place and setup correctly, the front (steer) axle was restored to 95% of it's unloaded weight. That's pretty damn good. For comparison, look at the No Weight Distribution numbers to see how having no WD hitch affects your towing. All 340lbs distributed by the hitch is all on the rear axle without the weight distribution.

Properly equipped it can. Every truck has different options. If you have a 4x2 ecoboost with the max tow package with the heavy duty payload package and it was a regular cab with an 8 foot box then you'll get those numbers.
