I need help knowing what size and weight I can tow with my truck. Never towed or owned a truck before please help. I have the following information about my truck:

GVWR 7200LBS
FRONT GAWR 3750LBS
REAR GAWR 3850LBS
TIRE AND LOADING INFO 1300LBS
GCWR 13,500
Dead Weight Hitch - Max Tongue Wt. 770LBSTRUCK HAS TOW PACKAGE BUT DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR TO FIGURE IT OUT.Axel 3.55
145 WB

2014 F150Ecoboost 3.5L V6 Super crew 4X4 XTR

The trailer that we are looking at is 5530 dry weight and it is 30.9ft with hitch.
I have tried figuring it out with the info that was said on the forums but it does not make sense. Need in plan English.

Talked to Ford and Rv places and these are the different #'s that I was told:
7300
7600
9600
10,500

So what is it?????? Please Help

Are those figures from the door sticker on your F150 or from some manual? All the load information unique to your rig is contained in two stickers on your door. Those are the figures you want to use to determine towing and payload capacity.

Glad you made it here to the Tow/Haul section! You'll get some expert advice here.

However, every truck is different, and every owner that tows loads different amounts of stuff in their truck and trailer before hooking up.

So.....none of those "numbers" are what YOUR truck will be able to pull.

And....you won't know what kind of tongue weight your truck can handle until you know some weights of YOUR truck, and the weights of what you'll be putting in the cab and bed before hooking up.

What people here are going to need to know before giving any advice is some info about YOUR truck. As xcntrk said, "the load information unique to your rig is contained in two stickers on your door"

They are also going to need to know how much weight of people and stuff you will put in the cab and bed of your truck before hooking up a trailer.

When you know your payload capacity, and subtract what you'll carry in the truck, then you'll know how much payload capacity remains for tongue weight.

Bottom line - those numbers posted by Ford are for a no-options/very lightweight truck. They will not apply to your truck - every truck is unique. To figure out YOUR truck's towing capacity you'll just need to do some simple math.

In that other thread in the General section of the forum you said your door sticker showed a payload capacity of 1355 lbs.

In your initial post in this thread it seems to indicate that it says 1300 lbs.

Which is it???

Additionally, in that other thread you gave info about the sticker on your hitch, and it said 5000/500 - 10500/1050.

If you have a 3.55 rear end, those numbers on your hitch, and a 7200 GVWR, then you have the standard tow package.

We know the truck has a tow package package installed but not sure what type we have. According to the chart with the 3 options the max toe package has the electronic break control and that's what we have. We also have a back cam as well.

From what I can tell from the tow charts on the ford website is we can tow up to 7200lbs but with the ecoboost and tow package that brings it up to 8200
