Default disappointed with new truck

And this is why i don't understand why people by 3/4 ton pickups with gas engines. When the same engine is offered in a 1/2 ton.

He did that. He said "... traded for a 2015 F250 Lariat 4x4 6.2." Last I checked, an F-250 was considered a 3/4 ton.

The 3.5L EcoBoost is a wonderful engine. So he was spoiled by his F-150 EcoBoost. Too bad Ford doesn't (yet) have something similar in the SuperDuty pickups. The best bet in a SuperDuty is the 6.7L diesel, but that's an $8,000 upgrade from the 6.2L gasser.

Payload , stout transmission , towing stability, is that enough reason, it was for me.

The 6.2 is no longer available in a half-ton.

I know that but it WAS. And the 6.2L doesn't get good MPG in a 150 at stock height and tires why it would be considered a good idea in a 3/4 is beyond me.

And presumably a longer duty cycle. The Superduties are supposedly designed to last longer when worked at their limits.

But for those doing just occasional towing, an F150 with the HD Payload option can give you payload and stability good enough for most trailers ... up to 10-12K or so. Too bad the HD payload F150 is not available for 2015.

Those who put on a lot of miles with a heavy load probably want to opt for a Superduty though. But then I would go diesel too.

What gears do you have, I ordered mine with 4.30 because it seemed a little sluggish with the 3.73.

It is just about the only way you can get the 4.30 axle gears is by ordering, my 16F350 will have them, it is on order as well.
And No, I don't need the $8K diesel option.

Not necessary true. I have the 6.2L w/3.55 rear ends and I regularly get 18 mpg going down the interstate. This spring, I towed my 21' bass boat from VA to Alabama and was getting 12 to 13 mpg's going 70 mph. From people I know who have the 6.2L in the Raptor are lucky to get 14 to 15 with theirs. Its a great motor that is dam near bullet proof with no issues.

I got 13.5 mpg towing a 20 foot travel trailer @3500lbs with a 2015 F-150 3.5 l twin turbo from northern NJ to SE PA.

Avg. around 62 mph.
