It's a SuperCrew Lariat with the 2.7EB without the 2.7L payload package. It's going to be low.

Hopefully last question though -- even if the WD doesn't do any good, will it hurt if I can find one that'll work with my trailer? Isn't there a legal issue there if I'm not using one even if it's not physically needed?

Do not use a WDH with this trailer, if the trailer builder says dont then dont. The hitch is designed for up to 11K, the 500lb hitch weight is what triggers the WDH need, you do not have that issue. If you use WDH on a trailer that says not to, and the frame fails on the trailer causing an accident you are in legal trouble. Make sure you are within the GVWR and GCWR and go.
