OutBurst - you are correct that the advertising is extremely misleading, so much so that I wouldn't feel at all bad if there is eventually a class action suit against Ford.

I do not know of any Class V hitches that will fit a 2018 F150. I doubt anyone will make one because frankly it makes no sense. Curt does make a 2" receiver that can handle 1,000/10,000 WC and 1,200/12,000 WD. That is the heaviest aftermarket F150 hitch I know of and the hitch on a stock Max tow has a higher WDH rating.

Not going to repeat what others have said. I think you get it by now.

Not very happy with how Ford markets their trucks right now. Not saying the trucks are junk, just saying their advertising is very misleading.
This is why many folks don't do their due diligence and research before they 'impulse' buy for whatever reason. Long story short (I'll try lol), when we decided this 'TT' experience we knew what we wanted and can afford. Based on the info of said TT, we purchased it before our TV. I had to come up w/ a TV to get the TT home in two weeks, a week to Disneyland vacation then a week to return my Audi lease. I spent countless of hours scouring the web and had to settle on a used VW Touareg TDI. Why the Touareg and not a truck? First of I wasn't ready for a truck, especially a 'real' truck. The Touareg spec was just as good as a light truck and it had enough power and payload to pull my TT home. The 12mos we had the TT and TV, we come to realize I should've gotten the truck because we couldn't haul the rest of our toys and had to cram it in the TT. So before I traded the Touareg, I finally took my time to understand the rest of the other numbers I should have been aware of and thus decided on a F-150. She'll serve us a good 4-6 years before we move up a size or two on our TT and once we retire, move up to an SD. All in all I've been in your shoe, but I admit I love the TDI, great MPG, stable, etc...but the payload only could hold the 4 of us, the dog and a happy meal.

I'm actually just going to leave this closed. It was a rude sh*t show from the start. If you'd like to try again, you may, civilly.
