When you say the wind pushes, are you referring the whole rig as one, or does it cause it to sway a bit? Being pushed as a whole is quite normal when the setup is correct, there were times coming back from Utah that I had the wheel cocked to the right a bit to keep me in the lane, but it was otherwise rock solid.(with the 14)

The rig as one. I don't get the wiggle from the trailer actually swaying, but a gust of wind really pushes the trailer. With the hitch, I def feel more as one with the trailer in the wind. much more stable.

Not much can be done with wind pushing, sounds like you got the setup just right. Moving more weight up front and back and off the drive axle, might help calming it down, but OTOH could make it worse.

yeah, my post was also part of the actualization of loads.

we have put a lot of miles on this rig without a WDH and fully loaded, I know the trailer is 1K lbs heavier (I was still missing a smoker, and coolers for the trailer this weekend when weighing). Our Curt hitch previously had a max rating of 750lbs (whoops), I was over the rear axle rating, and far more tongue weight than I believed in my head. even at 5K lbs, I was exceeding many limits on a truck that claimed to have 9100lbs towing and 1942 payload abilities.

I do have Timbrens in the rear. I forget to mention that sometimes. They are nice in that you forget you have them after awhile.

I take a broom with me and push the squawk box button with the broom handle.

I use a little spreadsheet to determine how my loads compare to the limits.
