Blue Ox BXW1000 vs BXW1000-S
I am about to do a 2" level on the front and may raise the back half an inch to keep a little rake.
Which Blue Ox are y'all running? Is the BXW1000-S for lifted trucks? I will be towing a Gulfstream 268H (29ft, 5500lb dry) |
No explanation on http://www.blueox.com/ as to the difference between BXW1000 and BXW1000-S.
I sent them an inquiry asking about the difference, but I don't expect an answer before Tuesday (Monday is a holiday). |
I believe the S means Sway Pro. No S means round bar setup that requires the friction sway control sway control.

When I ordered our Sway Pro it was from Amazon and there was no "S" in the model number. I guess I didn't look into it but I didn't know they had a "no-sway" version.

Ok, S does not mean Sway Pro. Site says this;
BXW1000 SwayPro Standard Hitch Shank BXW1000 S SwayPro S-Series Hitch Shank But I'll be damned if I can find what the difference is. |
Any of you guys ever figure it out? I just sent them the same question. My best guess is that there's no difference between the two looking at the pictures. They have totally different model numbers for things like underslung coupler or more range on the shank so it's not any of that. It could be like the mattress or electronics thing where they give the S to certain stores and the non-S to other stores so they don't have to price match.

Also, in their instructions it says the chains should be straight up when latched....guess they don't follow their own manual!

Thanks for the quick reply. I see that now - BXW1000 for the least range, BXW1000-S for the middle range, then they totally change things up and go with BXW1006 for the really big shank. I think either would work without issue for my close-to-stock 2010 F-150 and travel trailer combo.

Here's my Blue Ox BXW1000 on a 2017 F150 XLT 4x4. My rear fender height is about 40 inches.
