BLISS not working w/ Conv Trailer
#11
I've been to the dealer. I've called Ford help. I've started a case with FoMoCo to find an answer. I have a 2018 XLT Club Cab. BLIS and the option for trailer (17B). BLIS works without the conventional trailer connected. Once connected, trailer selected and active, BLIS no longer works. Icon lit up on the dash. As soon as I can get answer I'll post it here. It's been three weeks now, with a follow-up last week with the case started.

Turn on blis in main menu, mine was off,I'll see if it works now. It's posted here too how to accomplish this.
Update: Post#6
[QUOTEI had similar problems, my issue was that in the menu settings there is a master selection for BLIS when towing that needed to be turned on.
This isn't in the towing menu, I forget where right now, but trawl through the other menus and see if you can find it.
Once I turned that in my towing BLIS came on ]
I wish it was that easy. I have an XLT which has a different menu structure than Lariat and above trim levels. On XL and XLT you setup the trailer w/ BLIS enabled, nowhere else in the menus is it available to turn on/off as a general setting. Also if I go in to change the config of the trailer stored (I only have one trailer programmed) and tell it to add BLIS (I added it when I set up the trailer), it tells me no conventional trailer is stored. Even though I set the trailer up as Conventional which is the default.
Another oddity that is happening is when I start my truck it automatically shows me my stored Trailer data instead of the default last screen used, which is normally my fuel mileage. And even though I've only used my trailer for 99 miles (1 tow), it constantly adds miles to it every time I drive (without it connected). This all tells me theres a bug in the software and needs reflashed. I've called my dealership and they're looking into it and are supposed to get back to me in a day or so.

Hey BlueWoo, you did help me on the one issue. The issue w/ the trailer staying active was solved by your link, you have to set it to No Active Trailer after use. Thanks.
The BLIS though is still not solved. In the settings there is not BLIS on/off setting. You add it to trailer when you set it up or after through the trailer menu. Although I set it up when adding the trailer I have tried adding it after the fact as well and I get the message, no Conventional trailer programmed message.
I appreciate you trying to trouble shoot this.

NCost, got mine to work. i had to have the trailer connected to enable the menu item under settings.
If you don't have the trailer connected, it doesn't show up as an option to be able to check the box.

Enable trailer with BLIS on XLT models - menu item tricky to find, here's how:
Down arrow to display "Settings"
Right arrow to display "Advanced Settings"...Now, here it the trick. While it appears that Advanced Settings is the only option, it actually is not. While Advanced Settings are displayed, hit the up arrow. . . the clouds part, and the sun shines once again.
Happy towing everyone!

You are the man!!!
I have been messing with this off and on for days. I even looked in the manual for once. Looked at the Ford videos, Utube, my dealer, nobody knew how to do it. WORKS NOW !!!
If my computer had a beer button to send you beers, you would get many.
Thanks.
