I have them on my current 15 scab. took them off my 2011 when i sold it. I have them installed with about 3/4" space before they contact the axle so the empty ride is unaffected but as soon as I hook up trailer it settles just enough to contact axle. Makes the ride much firmer with no sway or body lean and with trailer in tow lights are not pointing at mars. for the price and ease of install I recommend them.

Hated them. Didn't like the think when going over speed bumps as it contacted axle housing.

Added them to my max tow 2016 for a 7000lb TT. They reduced my sag by 1/2" and stiffened up the rear so I say they help if you are towing close to your trucks max (in my case that is a 7600lb TT). However it does make the ride harsher as you feel every bump in the road and you even feel the Timbrens if you hit a big bump when not towing.

I chose them over adding a leaf and glad I did because the ride is stock most of the time.

There is another option...I have seen references to a device you clamp to the bottom leaf which you can engage when towing. It brings that spring into play earlier and may give you the load support without the harder stop of the Timbrens. (Sorry but I can't recall the product name.)

I put Timbrens on my 16 less than a month after owning it. Needless to say, I don't even know they are there.

Hmm I don't tow close to my max, but I load my truck to the max payload. I might be getting a enclosed trailer that would be close to the max tow though. I have towed with air bags before how do they compare?

I had Firestone "Ride Rite" bags on my 11 before the "Timbrens" Did not have on board air so I had to constantly adjust pressure and they leaked air. Bags would be great if you spring for the full 'Monti' and install compressor and cab controls. JMO

The question is how much rear sag you will get when loaded (towing or hauling). The Timbrens will help the rear leaf it is over-loaded but not do a lot for the front lift where air bags will level your ride but not do much for the spring.

I'd hold off till you can measure your truck under load. If you need to level, then air bags first. Drive it to see if it is bouncing too much >> shocks and/or springs. You may also want to look at Helwigs if you find the truck swaying due to the higher center of mass.

Ditto the above. I had them on my 2009 and it did help a lot towing my loaded or unloaded 10k 6x10' dump trailer or hauling loads in the bed. I always use a WDH with 800Lb bars for the loaded trailer, adjusting the number of links as needed. Once the load settled the springs beyond the 1" gap, the contact impression from the Tibren could not be detected.

I installed the SumoSprings on my truck ....a helper system. No air required but they work as an air bag would under compression. I can't adjust ride height with them ....they help my suspension when required. It's like progressive compression. Here's what I like. Stick them or cut them with a knife....they still work LOL. When I get back from this short trip, I'll install the Sumo Coil springs. Then I am set!
