Just curious, what is your tow vehicle and what are you towing. Is it a travel trailer and if it is what is the weight and length?
Look up my past posts. I towed a 30’ jayco travel trailer with a F150 crew. Mine is the equalizer 1200. The hitch works great. Town vehicle, not so much. I sold it and use the ram 2500 cummins now. Much safer for my family.
Equalizer is the only reason that truck even did remotely ok towing it.

I loved my Equal-i-zer hitch. I wish I still had it. When I got a new trailer, supposedly it wouldn't fit the A frame of my Jay Flight 23RB. So I bought the Blue Ox Sway Pro hitch.
I really dislike this hitch. While it does it's job, I despise having to use the breaker bar and 1" socket to both hook up the chain and worse remove the chain.
I've used an Equal-i-zer for 10 years now, I have over 50k kms towing with it through every conceivable area from the pacific coast in OR to Beartooth Pass in MT.
Last week we had the Reese reps give a 1 day education/training on their products. I'm very impressed with what I saw for their WD w/ built in sway control they have developed. Also the science and physics behind their dual cam setup.
Dont get me wrong the Equalizer is a very good system, what I've come to dislike about it is the heavy squeaking of metal on metal...

The concern I have is, is it too stiff, I have a driveway I go up every summer that at its steepest is an 11% grade and when transition from flat ground to going up that hill can it flex enough. The Eaz lift I have will flex enough, never caused a problem anyway.
How will an Equalizer hitch solve the problem? The anti-sway friction device is there to damp the amplitude of any oscillation. It seems to me that the solution would be to determine the cause of the sway and eliminate that.
I have the same EAZ-Lift 1000 with the one friction bar towing a 7200 lb. camper with a 24.5' box with a '13 F150. It's got 10.8% of the trailer weight on the tongue. Front truck axle is at 94% GAWR, rear axle is at 92% GAWR, truck is at 95% GVWR. 89% of the weight lifted from the front was returned by the WDH so it's only 40 lbs. lighter than the unhitched weight. Total weight is at 88% of GCWR.
I can't say that I understand what is happening because mine has never exhibited any oscillating sway. It gets a little push from the bow wave from the trucks, but there is no oscillation. I don't know the formula for towing with no oscillation, but apparently this one is within the envelope that prevents it.
I haven’t put my data on a spreadsheet like that, I will have to do that when I have time. I do know my tongue weight as a percentage is higher but varies depending on water etc. The ‘15 and ‘16 trucks are either more suscetible to sway or more sensitive to setup. I can tell you when towing this same trailer with my ‘02 Silverado 1500 with the same hitch I didn’t have any sway. I have adjusted the hitch up and down through its range and haven’t found the sweet spot yet. I have also been over the public scales many times checking and testing various weights and even bought a Sherline tongue scale to make sure I had an accurate idea of the weights. If you do a search you will find several people withe the same issue where they didn’t with their old truck. The interesting thing was that I went over to gm-trucks.com and didn’t see much in the way of this complaint. One more thing I noticed was my old truck weighed within 100lbs of what this truck weighs with the same weight front and rear and it was the same length as this truck.
